Once a king went to a jungle to hunt. He was thirsty. He was finding water. And then there came a woodcutter. The king asked him for water. The woodcutter gave water to the king. The king’s thirst quenched. The king was very happy and decided to give a gift to the woodcutter. The king said, “Whenever you are passing by my palace then come to my palace, I will give you a gift.” The woodcutter agreed and then the king went hunting.
After a few days, the woodcutter was passing by the palace so he went into the palace. When the woodcutter came inside, he said, “I am that woodcutter. Do you remember? I gave you water a few days ago.” The king said, “Yes, I remembered you, I need to give a gift to you. Let me think.” After saying this, the king started thinking that what should he give to the woodcutter. The king decided that he will give his garden of Sandalwood Tree. The woodcutter was very happy after listening to it. He thought that if there would be a garden there would be more tree, if there would be more trees there would be more wood, if there would be more wood, I will be able to make more Coal and I will earn more money. The woodcutter went back happily.
After few days the king thought that he should visit the garden and meet the woodcutter. When the king reached, he saw that there was smoke everywhere. There he saw the woodcutter working at one end. The king went to him and said, “What are you doing? Stop it.” The woodcutter stood up and said, “I was making coal from the wood.” The king said, “Why are you doing so much hard work?” The king picked a piece of wood and gave it to him and asked him to sell this in the market. The woodcutter agreed and went to sell the wood. Surprisingly, he got 300 rupees for that piece of wood. At that time 300 rupees was a huge amount. The amazing thing was that the woodcutter gets only 50 rupees by cutting 5 trees so this was a huge profit for the Woodcutter. The woodcutter thanked the king. Thanks for reading and I’ll see you next time.
