The DC Avanti was a mediocre “sports car” which took of like a lead balloon and fell like a lead balloon. But why did that happen?
- It was overpriced
- It was way too bad
- Why would someone buy it?
These three reasons are the prime reasons the DC Avanti failed. It was priced at a jaw-dropping Rs.50 lakhs but offered a worse interior than a 20-year-old super cheap hatchback. And I’m serious, the interior was so bad that a Honda that had been badly kept would look like a luxury car when compared with the Avanti. For Rs.50 lakhs, you could get something much better than the useless junk that the Avanti was. Some luxury cars were cheaper than the DC Avanti and those luxury cars were not a piece of junk and they had more power, were built better, looked better, and were simply better. Nobody needs to a DC Avanti, ever (unless they need to burn it down and shoot it into space using a rocket). And DC didn’t even put airbags in the unsafe Avanti making it worse, it was unreliable. Dilip Chhabria was involved in an arrest for doing some very illegal bad stuff and recently Dilip Chhabria’s (Owner of DC) son was arrested for copying Kapil Sharma, killing DC as a car brand in all ways possible, not that it was thriving or even running before.
